Beautiful writing and great insight on hiking, the outdoors and our paths both literal and metaphorical.
4) The Fugue by Gint Aras (2016)
A completely original and powerful portrait of immigrant life in the western suburbs of Chicago. Unlike anything else I have read this year.
5) Swarm Theory by Christine Rice (2016)
A novel in stories about people living in a small town in Michigan. The writing is beautiful and often elegant.
