Proof of vaccination required to enter libraries starting Jan. 10

Beginning Monday, Jan. 10, individuals 18 years and older will be required to show proof of vaccination status to enter Evanston Public Library facilities in line with a citywide mandate designed to slow the current surge in COVID-19 cases.

Patrons will be asked to provide photo identification if they are 18 years of age or older, as well as recognized proof of vaccination against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination can include a CDC COVID-19 vaccination card, an official immunization record, a photo of their vaccination card, or an app providing a digital vaccination record. Face masks also continue to be required.

The Evanston Public Library is everywhere you are with online programs, downloadable materials and curbside pickup.

Online programs

Many of the Library’s scheduled programs have been moved to an online format. Watch storytime, join in on a book discussion, or learn a new skill from the comfort of your home. Here’s just a sampling of what next week’s programs include:

Curbside pickup

Curbside pickup is still available to all Evanston cardholders. Reserve your materials online, and when you get notification they’re ready for pickup, call our Reader’s Services Desk at (847) 448-8620. One of our librarians will schedule a time for you to come pick up your library materials, and our staff will meet you at the curb.

Downloadables

Or save yourself a trip and download your next title to read, watch, or listen on your favorite device. Visit www.epl.org for ebooks, audiobooks, movies and more available for download for free with your library card.
