Celebrate Floyd Cooper Day by reading great books written and/or illustrated by award winner Floyd Cooper. In early May Children’s Book Week will honor the work of the late Floyd Cooper, who illustrated and/or wrote many noteworthy books for young audiences. Cooper received two Coretta Scott King Illustrator Awards, a Caldecott Honor, among many other accolades.

The Blueberry Award is a brand new children’s book prize in its inaugural year. The Blueberry is given to the children’s book that best engenders a love of nature in children ages 3 – 10.
