Mudlark Theater is a not-for-profit organization where
children are taken seriously as artists, and learn theater by making it. As a rule, the general public expects little of children’s theater. Mudlark's goal is to raise that expectation and keep it there. By holding children to a higher standard and empowering them to make strong artistic choices, Mudlark creates the possibility for great theater—vibrant, funny, compelling shows that erase the boundary between youth and professional theater.
Half-day workshops and summer camps available: http://www.mudlarktheater.org/training
Muse of Fire is a professional theatre company dedicated to bringing great plays to the widest possible local audience.
We choose plays that are classics -- plays that ask important questions and encourage audiences to come up with their own answers; plays with characters as complicated and flawed as we all are; plays that love language and provide our company the opportunity to create the kind of intimacy between performers and audience that is the hallmark of our approach to theatre.
We believe that no one in the community should be excluded from such an experience, and we strive to make each play we present understandable and engaging for everyone who comes to see it. We also make our plays broadly inviting by performing in found spaces, rather than stately theatre venues that might intimidate newcomers. We play without microphones or other distancing technology. And all our performances are free.
