The National League of Cities (NLC) Prescription Discount Card is a FREE program offered to help you save money on the high cost of prescription medications. This prescription discount card is brought to you by your city government in collaboration with the NLC. Use the card anytime your prescriptions are not covered by insurance. The NLC Prescription Discount Card program is available only to member cities of the National League of Cities.
Your card cannot be used in conjunction with other insurance. However, you are able to use your card to purchase prescriptions that are not covered by these plans.
Eligibility: Most major retail pharmacy chains such as Walgreens, CVS, Wal-Mart and Rite Aid accept your prescription discount card.
Fee Policy: While savings on each prescription may vary, this program saves an average of 23 percent off of the pharmacy’s regular retail prices for prescription drugs. In addition, you may save even more through mail service by choosing from our list of select medications.
Illinois Rx Buying Club in conjunction with Medco Health Solutions offers a discount prescription plan for both generics and brand name drugs. Savings average 20% at over 2500 pharmacies in Illinois. There is also a mail order service for savings.
Eligibility Criteria: For Illinois residents, income eligibility requirements apply, please contact the organization to determine whether you are income eligible. Please call Illinois Rx Buying Club member services to request an enrollment form or with questions regarding the program.
Fee Policy: $10 annual non- refundable administrative fee.
