Mudlark Theater is a not-for-profit organization where
children are taken seriously as artists, and learn theater by making it. As a rule, the general public expects little of children’s theater. Mudlark's goal is to raise that expectation and keep it there. By holding children to a higher standard and empowering them to make strong artistic choices, Mudlark creates the possibility for great theater—vibrant, funny, compelling shows that erase the boundary between youth and professional theater.

Team Evanston was officially founded in 1991 through the merger of Evanston’s two premier traveling youth soccer clubs – Gross Point Soccer and Pele Stars. The main purpose of the merger was to unite Evanston club soccer under one umbrella organization, and to improve the overall quality of youth soccer in Evanston. Both clubs had a great tradition in Evanston, but agreed it was time to pool resources and talents to create a better experience for both boys and girls in Evanston.
Today Team Evanston consists of 40 boys and girls team including approximately 600 children playing from U8 through U19. Though the organization is still run by a volunteer board, all teams have paid and licensed coaches. The club also has a paid director of coaching responsible for the hiring of coaches and development of curriculum for all age levels.

Public Notes

LINK TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS: In partnership with District 65, scholarships are awarded annually to students in the third grade on the basis of need. To provide maximum benefit, each scholarship continues for three consecutive years. Since 2004, we have sent approximately 100 kids to camp annually, representing all Evanston public elementary schools.
