EPL Board of Trustees reports on resident feedback in executive director search

Updated Jan. 30, 2023

The Evanston Public Library Board of Trustees is reviewing resident input in its search for a new library executive director.  This follows from community surveys completed by residents, library staff and library volunteers.   The search committee is pleased that over 300 people responded and that we are able to publish those results.  Trustees also held 6 listening sessions, three each for community and staff members.

“We are very fortunate to have effective leadership in place, allowing for an intentional search process,” said Library Board President Tracy Fulce. “We are moving deliberately and thoughtfully to identify what we believe is most important for library director candidates to know about our library and our community.”

In keeping with its commitment to community input and transparency, the Library Board requested feedback from residents, staff and volunteers early in its search process. These responses will be used to fundamentally shape the search for the best candidate prior to the interview stage.
