Midwest Impact Day of Service: Seeing Black in REaD

Join us as we highlight African American authors, discuss banned books, and encourage participation in libraries and programs.

Evanston-North Shore Alumnae Chapter and Theta Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. partner with Evanston Public Library to bring you a celebration of literacy with a focus on African American literature.

Guests include:

  • L’Oreal Thompson Payton – Health & wellness reporter for Fortune Magazine and author of Stop Waiting for Perfect: Step Out of Your Comfort Zone and Into Your Power.
  • Charmeka McCoy – Mother, Educator, Principal, and author of He’s Only 8.
  • Laura Williams – author of a collection of books focused on developing an early love of art and learning.

Best for ages 8 to adult.
