Spring by Tess Dinerstein

Spring wakes up
From her long slumber
Just in time to wish Winter
Goodnight
She stretches
And the sun comes
Out to greet her
Warming the earth.
 .
She dances across
Fields,
Her cape of flowers turning the
Grass a soft
Green when she passes.
          .
She twirls
And flower buds just peek
Out.
                   .
She bakes a cake of blue sky
and white clouds
The warm oven heating the trees
enough to start
Budding.
           .
To wash the dirt from winter
She summons rain showers.
                             .
And when all her work is done
She is content to settle down
Into her
Bed of sunlight
To wait until next year.
