Sports writer Rich Cohen in Chicago area this week

I heard the interview with Rich Cohen on NPR recently and, lo and behold, he’s touring our area to promote his new book, “Monsters: The 1985 Chicago Bears and the Wild Heart of Football.” He was informative about football history and gave quite a bit of background surrounding the famed ’85 Bears. (This is from someone who’s still trying to figure out who gets to tackle who!)

Tomorrow he’ll be speaking in Naperville at 7 Pm at Anderson’s. Thursday Cohen will appear at Soldier Field with other sports folk at 6PM and a book signing will follow. Next week, if that’s not enough for you, he should be in Milwaukee and Vernon Hills. An Amazon Book of the Month. EPL books on Da Bears.

Bill Bryson in Winnetka this week!

Author Bill Bryson (A Walk in the Woods, A Really Short History of Nearly Everything, and many others) will be speaking at the Skokie School auditorium in Winnetka October 10, 2013, at 7PM. If he speaks the way he writes, it should be quite entertaining.

“Three Cups of Tea” Author To Appear in Chicago

I know there’s been some controversy about Greg Mortenson’s work, but there are probably people who are still interested in hearing him speak. He’ll be here Oct. 28-29 downtown for the Building Bridges of Peace organization. It’s billed as “Dialogue through Philanthropy, Storytelling & Comedy.” For EPL holdings of his work, click here.
