Edith Pearlman took top honors
at the National Book Critic’s Circle 2011 award ceremony in NYC this week. Her collection of short stories “Binocular Vision” has been hailed as the work of a “writer’s writer.” See above link for EPL holdings.

The Pavel Haas Quartet won the classical music world’s top award for their recordings of Dvorak’s quartets for strings, the no.12 (American) and no.13. Go here for a chance to sample their sublime music. (Who knew a string quartet could look so hip?)
