We are happy to introduce Chicagoland artist Hanna Eiler as the next to be featured in our ongoing exhibition series Local Art @ EPL. From now through July 31st, nearly two dozen of her imaginative 3-D collage paintings will be display on the 2nd floor of EPL’s Main Library. Depicting British royal history from Edward IV to Elizabeth I along with abstract ideas of quantum physics, Eiler strives to explore the moment when “the ideas of the past merge with the realities of the present and the future.” You can find more of Eiler’s work by visiting the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago.
We are pleased to introduce Evanston artist Ted Glasoe as the next to be featured in our ongoing exhibition series Local Art @ EPL. Fresh off his stunning May exhibit showcasing EPL’s peregrine falcons, Glasoe now presents a selection of breathtaking Lake Michigan photographs designed to explore “the compelling and unexpected alliance of nature and our urban environment.” You can catch his show through June 30th on the 2nd floor of EPL’s Main Library and find more of Glasoe’s work by visiting his website. The E/ artgroup is an eclectic collection of Chicagoland artists whose work is currently on display as part of our popular exhibition series Local Art @ EPL. Comprised of artists Mary Beth Bellon, Susanne Clark, Sarah Hahne, Mary Hilger, bert leveille, Nan Seidler, and Victoria Senn, the group began exhibiting together 7 years ago and is dedicated to “growing artistically” while exploring “their own unique and individual styles creating collages, watercolors, oils, mixed media, fabric constructions, and digital media.” You can catch their show through June 7th on the 2nd floor of EPL’s Main Library, and you can also learn more about the group by visiting their website. Shalisha Erenberg is a Chicagoland painter and the latest artist to be featured in our ongoing exhibition series Local Art @ EPL.Her show – titled Articulated Impressions – is currently on display on the 2nd floor of EPL’s Main library where you can catch it through March 31st. Influenced by her studies with figurative abstractionist Vera Klement, her bold, textured paintings strive to “evoke strong emotions and feelings” in those who view them. Kyle Van Heck is a Chicagoland collage artist who is currently featured in our ongoing exhibition series Local Art @ EPL. Using oils, spray paint, old books, electrical wire, children’s toys, and old newspaper culled from EPL’s recycling bin, Van Heck creates stunning collages that shape “small pieces of pop culture” into unified works with something to say. Ten of his thought-provoking collages will be on display on the 2nd floor of EPL’s Main Library through the end of January, and after that, you can see more of his work by visiting his website.
