Executive Director of the New York Writer’s Coalition and volunteers offered free writing workshops throughout New York City last week, including a session on a round trip subway train to Flushing, Queens. Participants were told they could write whatever they wanted during the 75-minute trip. Several dozen people joined the diverse group, including a jewelry designer, a student, and a Colombian immigrant (who wrote an ode to her spine “thanking it for its support”).
