Stout Public Library in Dubuqe, Iowa posted this wonderful list of unjustly overlooked recent books. It always fascinates me why certain titles grab the spotlight over others that strike me as equally good. The one thing these 6 seem to have in common is a quirky, oddball sensibility that defies easy genre categories. Still, how could I have missed such a wonderfully titled gem as Firmin, Adventures of a Metropolitan Lowlife, the autobiography of a hyper-literate Boston rodent?
