2026 Annual Budget
Why Your Gift Matters
90% of our annual budget comes from Evanston city taxes, but we raise the remaining 10% from generous donors like you.
Annual fundraising supports the library’s current needs—like this year’s programs, collections, and services—ensuring we can meet community demand right now. Donations from across the community are essential to sustaining the full range of library services—from everyday resources to innovative programming.

Donations to EPL are tax deductible, and there is also a 501c3 option.
Charitable donations made directly to EPL are eligible for tax deductions to the extent allowed by law. If your donation requires a 501c3 designation, donations for EPL can be directed to the Partners of the Evanston Public Library (PEPL). The PEPL are a 501c3 friends of the library organization.
