Evanston, IL — The Evanston Public Library (EPL) is inviting local entrepreneurs, makers, artists, food vendors, and small business owners to participate in the upcoming Culture & Commerce Market, an outdoor community celebration highlighting local businesses, culture, and connection.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Robert Crown Community Center (1801 Main St.) and will celebrate National Black Business Month and Hispanic Heritage Month by showcasing Black and Latino entrepreneurs and businesses throughout the community. The deadline for vendor applications is August 7.
The Culture & Commerce Market will provide vendors with an opportunity to promote their businesses, connect with residents, and share their products and services with the Evanston community. The event will feature local vendors offering food, handmade goods, unique products, professional services, art, clothing, and more, along with family-friendly activities, entertainment, and opportunities for community connection.
Supporting local entrepreneurs helps strengthen our community and creates opportunities for connection, collaboration, and economic growth. The Culture & Commerce Market celebrates the creativity, talent, and entrepreneurial spirit of the businesses that help make Evanston thrive!
National Black Business Month, celebrated each August, recognizes the achievements and contributions of Black entrepreneurs and encourages communities to support Black-owned businesses. Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15 through October 15, recognizes the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.
Local businesses interested in participating are encouraged to complete the vendor application by August 7. Vendor spaces are limited.
